so i just ordered a evga 9600gt ssc with the plan to step up to a 9800 when they come out. this is going to be a huge jump for me since i am running a 6800gs w/ amd 3500, i havnt really been able to play any games for like 1-1.5 yrs cant wait. then next i will be building a intel e8400 based system just a soon as they get back in stock at the egg!!! :D :D :D

congrats, that's going to be a large jump in performance although I wonder if you'll be CPU limited. the 9800, if it comes out in time for you to step up, will be a nice pairing for the e8400 build.

wait untill the new revision of the 8400. the current generation has a pretty bad temp diode problem. i'd personally wait till that gets fixed.

there is no problems what are you spreading rumors for ?

just because toms's or anandech could not oc past 4.2GHz or whatever doesnt mean there is a problem

and why do you need so much cpu power anyway 3Ghz is enough for any game

Thats not what he said. Temp diode has nothing to do with oc'ing.
