Nt authority system shutdown windows xp

Can anybody help, I had this nt authority virus on my laptop. but didn't know it was a virus.
The sustem had been flagged by microsoft as non genuine. so i bort a dell brand windows xp sp2 disc, but it wont install, i have even used a kill disc to wipe the harddrive but still no success loading cd could this virus still be somewhere in my laptop?

What do you mean it wont install? What does it do?
