Hello,I got ibm think pad r40 i got fellon down the computer and screen has broken then i have put new screen the it was work some times and then now its keep blink some time it work well. Also charger is not charging always should connect the power supply. CD writer got problam. Its does't display on my computer also not in the devise manager. I have put it to other laptop its wrk well.

Send it to IBM for repairs. It's beyond what you can fix at home.

It might be the motherboard thats not working. Talk to IBM about a replacement motherboard for the machine. If the screen works, but the motherboard cant process it, along with the CD drive and the power supply, then it sounds like a bad board. That is the single component that all of those items connect to and have in common.
