RAM for 780i

hey all, I was wondering if Patriot Extreme Performance 2GB (2 x 1GB) PDC22G9600ELK (2x for 4 gig) will work fine on my 780i motherboard with correct timings and what not. The reason i ask is because a review on newegg said 1200 mem wont work good for 780i unless its SLI certified

If it does work, will i still be able to run dual channel or quad channel with 4 gig?

What motherboard do you have? Did you check the manufacturer's website to make sure the RAM will work?

I'm battling a similar question about what memory to get for my new MSI P7N Diamond (780i).

I am going to get the EVGA 780i, The RAM is not on the website but that does not mean it wont work...

These should give you an idea if the memory has been tested for your board.

I would suggest getting 2x2GB, but that's just me. Check out these calculators to help you decide (I listed the Patriot one first).

Oh, I almost forgot...no, it doesn't mean it won't work, but it hasn't been tested and "approved."

I always try to stick close to the approved vendors.
