A rumour going around is that 8800 series cards will be able to use the Physx software with a driver update.

Until there is a physics engine that works on all video cards we aren't likely to see widespread use. Companies don't want to alienate over half of their market by making something an 8-series exclusive, which screws over all ATI and older nVidia users.

I'm hoping nVidia pushes physics farther, but that companies make a design that works with both future ATI and nVidia cards.

Did you read somewhere that Nvidia actually aquired Ageia?

I have heard that the Nvidia GPU will utilize the physics more so than before but I didnt hear or see anything stating that Ageia would be aquired by Nvidia.

If anyone has a link to info stating that it would be nice to read it...
