Can i reuse a gateway cpu in a dell

i have a gateway w340 with a better cpu but thew screen is cracked so i was wondering if i could remove the cpu and place it in my older dell latitude d400?

From what I found, the W340 has a CELERON M, the Dell has a regular Mobile CPU although at a lower clock speed. You won't see any difference in speeds.
