I am costomizing a computer off of cyberpowerpc.com, which you pretty much pick all the components yourself.  I have costomized a computer and i was wondering if i did a pretty good job.  It's only $844.  With the $20 mail in rebate for the case, it's really only $824.  Here are the list of components:

I plan on doing some gaming on this computer, so i need to know if this graphics card will be a good one to have.  Also, i was wondering if the sound card was good.  I dont know if it really makes a difference.

If your going to game, spend a LOT more on the GPU.  The case is okay, not sure about the PSU that comes with it.

Depends on what type of gaming you'll be doing and at what resolution etc. If you want to play the latest and greatest at any more than 800x600 extra low settings I'd choose a better card. The 8800GTS 512 if they offer  it. I would also move for a better power supply. The ones that come with cases generally aren't that high quality. And a super high quality 420w would be the lower limit for the system you have there. A 550-600w name brand(thermaltake, corsair, silverstone...etc.) should do you fine. And as for the 'sound card', it's not really a card, it's on the motherboard. Onboard audio is fine for general use but if you're an audiophile you'll want to spring for something extra.
 
Oh yeah, and if you're building a fresh machine, I recommend Vista over XP. It's not as bad as everyone says it is, and you need it if you want to play games in DX10 mode.

No, It's not a very good Graphics Card.
Try getting an E6750 and spending a little more on graphics.
 

Get the eVGA 8800 GTS 512MB video card its way better than the one you have picked.  
 
Case wise its alright but get a different PSU go for a Corsair HX 520W thats should be plenty enough for you're system.
 
Don't grab a Value select RAM, just go with 2GB Corsair XMS2 800MHZ

If you want a custom rig, buid it yourself. Cyberpower has poor customer support. If you dont want to build buy a dell from walmart and add a graphic card.

 
LOL a dell. Theres nothing more better than building the PC yourself since you learn how to assemble without any help from anyone else. If you can't get it to work then look at the manual don't be so shy its there to help you.  
 
If you don't want to then you can follow roadrunner and get a Dell (LOL)  

Learn to overlock.
 
Minimise on CPU. Get an E6320/E6420 or even one of those E4xxx and OC it past 3Ghz and it will perform the same as the E6850.
 
Minimise on RAM. Get the cheapest brand name ddr2 800 memory you can.
 
Maximise on GPU. Spend the money you save on the CPU to get a 3870 or 8800 card. Even a 7900 or x1950 would be better than those midrange DX10 cards.

 
There's really no point in getting cheap value ram anymore. you can get 2gb of high quality ddr2-800 for less than $40 after rebates. And if you want to overclock quality  ram is better.

ok, after reading all of this so far, i have decided that i would keep the components i got and but i will upgrade to a 500watt power supply and upgrade the video card to the ATI Radeon HD 3850 PCI-E x16 256MB Video Card. i have seen the stats in the charts and this looks like a good one. This brings up the price to $986. i am still going to keep with cyberpower because my friend ordered a computer from there and he likes it very much and had no problems with it and if i did ever need service with my computer, he is really pro with them. i am still going to keep the 2GB of RAM. i think that this will be a good computer if i decide to get it. Do you think i made some good changes?

(Get the "Retail" version of the optical drive in order to get software with it. This will include the decoder you'll need to watch movies on it.)

You need to change the processor to something different than what you have. Either save money and get an E6750, or change it to a Q6600.

If your friend is such a pro why did he but cyberpower?

well first of all, my friend bought from cyberpower because he is on a budget and needed a good computer.  I hear the cyberpower has bad costomer service.  If you got a good computer from them, why would you need costomer service?  I like the processor i got, but why would i want to downgrade and get the E6750? and i hear that the E6850 is better for gaming. please explain why i would want to change the processor, nukchebi0.

Looks pretty good on what ya picked.  Unless you will be playing on a 22" wide screen or larger the card will be fine.

You should look into the 8800GS or 9600GT that is coming out. And which your cpu to a E6550. Your motherboard is ok if you want sli. If you don't want sli you should look into a DS3L or an IP35-E.

You could build better for cheaper. This is kinda a builders forum anyhow. If you build and need help thats one thing, but asking about a cyberpower piece of crap, you should stick to talking to your pro buddy.
I dont think none of us give a crap on a Cyberpower. I sure don't.

don't get that PC; it's overpriced... and the HD2600XT is a waste of time, money, and PCB for games

Why would you need good customer service?
Well because they build the computer with cheap parts that will break easy and when they do they don't honor their warranty.
 
If you friend was on a tight budget, then it would be a real bad move to buy from PowerPC.
SInce you would pay a hefty fee to save you a couple hours of work of assembling the computer himself.
He even chose to get an extra bad warranty to go with the low grade parts.
