Hi, I've tried to reinstall XP, however a file was missing on the disk. Now I receive a message telling me a file is missing and it won't install. the old XP OS won't boot. I've tried a alternative xp disk and the PC won't pick it up! Help Please :s

Either the disk is damaged or you need to turn off ACHI mode in the BIOS and set it to IDE. That causes issues at times loading XP. By "at times", i really mean "quite often" :-)
