Hello so I had a little problem over the last few days. The power had went out 3 times in a row and my hard drive got messed up because of this. Stuff like bad sectors I guess the computer was starting slow and lots of files were missing. So I got a new hard drive and I am trying to get some files from my old one to the new one. But when I try access the documents and settings for my old hard drive I get this error
J:\Documents and Settings\HP_Owner is not accessible
Access is denied

So I googled it and found this link http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=308421
I have windows xp home so I have to boot in safe mode but when trying to boot in safe mode this long list comes up one line that I can remember goes something like this
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(2)\WINDOWS\system

That is not the full line but that comes up like 15 times each underneath each other. All I want to be able to do is access the document and settings folder for the j drive. So does anyone know another way or a fix for this?

Alright so I went to this link http://www.dougknox.com/xp/tips/xp_home_sectab.htm. I then followed the steps to enable the secutiy tab for xp home I got the security tab to and followed the steps from the microsoft link but I am still getting access denied. I also had a password on my old hardrive the one which i am trying to access.
