Hi Guys. Can someone tell me if it is possible to put 2 of those hd3870 x2 cards in a pc? or should it be an hd 3870 + Hd3870 x2?

My motherboard is Gigabyte GA-X38-DQ6 and to be honest i dont know how big these things are? will they fit on one board?

your help is appreciated and thanks in advance guys. :)

I am no expert, but there are no replies yet..........

your board has the support it seems,
which leaves the typical questions:

  • what power supply do you have?
  • does you case allow for the clearance/cooling?
  • will you need/want more cooling?

i heard that the hd3870 x2 cant be crossfired yet with another hd3870 x2. im not sure tho.

hw big is ur monitor? sli/crossfire helps only for big monitors. above 20inch. otherwise, single high end gpu will be enough.

dunno about the original question, but you'll need to wait for the CrossfireX drivers to come out before you can actually RUN it...

from what i've heard, X38 boards whould allow you to do it depending on case clearance ofc...
