Can anyone suggest a top end board for a quad core processor witch has at least 3 pci slots.

I need this for making music so I need as many PCI slots as poss for all my DSP cards (VST processing cards). I’ve got an Asus P5N32-SLI Deluxe at the moment but am looking to upgrade to one which can take a quad processor. Its also gotta have the ability to house at least 4GB of RAM.

All the new boards seam to have only 2 or 3 pci slots.

Any suggestions?

I’ve heard that there are issues with the new Asus Commando & the Universal Audio (UAD) VST Processing PCI card that I run.

Someone said if you had 4GB of Ram the system only thinks there are 2.4GB so I think that’s off the list.

I hate to say this, but you may have to consider upgrading to some PCI-E card. PCI is dying. I had the same dilemma with my video editing system when I began an upgrade cycle. Traded in a $800 PCI card for a $350 PCI-E one, and you know what? The replacement was less quirky/buggy, AND I made a small profit on the deal through Ebay.
