You can overclock with stock cooling.

You can learn about the hsf & mobo compatiblity by looking at user's comments:

Other Thoughts: e6400 @ 3.4, 2 x 1GB Gskill HZ, zalman cnps9700. screams. Also, everyone likes to talk about vdrop and vdroop control, and this board has an option for it (load line calibration?)heard old bios "handles it" better. But be very careful. Anand, in an article about new 45nm procs, mentions this on asus boards specifically. check it out before ocing...*snipped*

Other Thoughts: Cooler Master Cosmos 1000, 750W Cooler Master Real Power PS, Core 2 Duo 2.66 GHz 1066 FSB, Zalman 9700, Asus P5K-E/Wifi, Corsair XMS-2 2GB DDR II 800 PC6400, nVIDIA GeForce 8800 Ultra, Raptor 160GB, WD 16SE 500GB, WD 250GB Ext, Samsung DVD burner, Vista Prem 64-bit. Mostly Newegg!

At least 2 newegg users are using the same combo. There are others. Also, you can go to zalman website for mobo compatibility. Their list is a bit behind though.

overclocking a quad with a stock heatsink? personally, i'd be afraid to go above 2.6ghz... is there no place you can find that can source the coolers fro you? most stuff is made in China anyways, so i'm thinking there ought to be a reseller somewhere nearby
