I currently have a AMD socket 939 pc.

AMD Athlon 3700 CPU
Gigabyte K8 SLI Motherboard
2Gb DDR Samsung RAM
Nvidia 7900GT 512Mb
250Gb Maxtor SATA II Hard disk
500 Watts PSU

I am thinking of upgrading for a Core 2 Duo changing onlu the MOBO Ram and obviously CPU

Asus P5KC, iP35, S 775, PCI-E (x16), DDR2/DDR3 1066/1333/667/800, SATA II, as Mobo
INTEL CORE 2 DUO E6550
and Corsair DDR2 2Gb RAM

Any Suggestions Welcome

Great selection of parts,you did your homework.
I do also have e6550 and really impressed by its performance with the asus p5kc you can overclocked it @3ghz stable.
Im also an amd guy but shifted to intel base pc and no regrets it did change my techie life

Not that DDR3 future-proofing crap. Swap it out for P5K-E which IS the Deluxe if you take the white label off the board. So you're getting a deluxe board for cheap!

The rest are ok. Do you overclock?

Hi

10x for your suggestions. I have never overclocked any CPU I was going to try with the 3700 Amd and maybe get some phew months of usage so that I see what the Technology offers, but I don't know maybe I Just will go and upgrade.

hey I also have asus p5kc and e6550 but I couldn't make it work after o/c. system crashes when too much overclocked and when I overclock %5 percent it makes my system even slower than it normally is :( any suggestions?
