Hello,
having great difficulty creating a 3 monitor experience for my son -- setup is one EVGA 9500GT qgb card with dual DVI/dual monitor capabilities, one older 7600GS card, and three monitors -- xp on the pc, 3gb ram athlon processor -- the program simply wont allow the window to span the third monitor, showing black on that section when stretched.. any suggestions?

I'll be brief and let you make your own decisions...

For just $39.00, your troubles may be over.
They offer a free full-function 30 day trial.

How about... He has a family, and therefore some kind of a budget?

If I wanted to send him off to break the bank I would have said to buy VMware Workstation and run X-Plane on the first two monitors and slide the VM machine over to the last monitor, running as a network machine internally to the host, to add whatever view he desired. He could have the odd card be front view and the dual capable card as the side views, but at what expense? Although your brilliant idea would actually cost more, my $39.00 suggestion won't take the meat out of their spaghetti.
