Evening,

May I ask for your thoughts & advice on the config below?

Case: Thermaltake Kandalf VA9003 SWA
Processor: Intel® Quad Q6600 / Q9450 - Q9550
Motherboard: Asus Striker II Formula
Ram: G.Skill Kit Extreme2 2 x 2 Go PC6400 PK
GPU: MSI NX8800GTS-T2D512E-OC
Hard Drive: Samsung Spinpoint T166 S-ATA - 500 Go - 16 Mo
or
Seagate Barracuda 7200.11 S-ATA - 500 Go - 32 Mo
Screen: 24"
PSU: Thermaltake Toughpower W0117 - 750W
Radiator: Noctua NH-U12P
Extra Fan: SilenX Ixtrema Pro XIXP7414 120mm
Sound card: Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Gamer Fatal1ty Pro

(Grand Total 1650euros + screen)

Keeping in mind I plan on a future GPU / ram upgrade, which is the non-petty reason I'd go for an Asus Striker II.
Also I'm very much considering waiting for the Q9450 ... But that could entail waiting for the G9800 GTX (et al) and my desktop is getting old ;/

Thanks,
Synh

Waiting isnt necessarily a bad thing; that said, looks solid. I myself wouldnt bother with the Fatal1ty line, its overpriced for the sake of a name. And unless your getting it for a ridiculously low price, drop the GTS and go for a GT.

Your going to be surprised as to how sizeable your case is; which is why I hope your not going to be transporting it often unless you like lifting heavy computers.

Ah hehe is it that big? I'd heard good things about it being so light (Alluminium). I'm not at all against looking into other cases, this one is quite simply good-looking! Know of any cool cases?

Bah the GTS is at about 400$, which is a very decent price in Europe. Cheers though will take a closer look at a GT.
Otherwise ... its all about the old X-Fi Xtreme sound !!! ;D

Oh and question. Is it necessary / worth getting a Network Card? (i.e. Killer M1 / K1) Does it really boost your latency?
