!st time builder. Ive done the research asked questions on this board and this is what i came up with. I wanted to keep my budget around $350. Im not a serious gamer just RTS. And i would like to run most programs and edit my minidv tapes. I already have a WD 320 GB HDD, monitor keyboard and mouse. And i plan on Overclocking the CPU.

Mobo- GIGABYTE GA-P35-DS3L http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128059 $90
CPU- e2160 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819116036 $73
Ram- Gskill 2gb DDR2 800 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231098 $45
PSU & Case- Antec Sonata III http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811129024 $100
GPU- http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127296 $38
I will also be buying a firewire card for my camcorder but i am undecided on what to get at this point.
Grand total with shipping $346

I will be upgrading this build in the future when i have more money and parts are cheaper.
Just to be sure is there anything Im missing? Your advice is greatly appreciated.

c4 may make a difference in overclocking, but I think the most pressing issue would be a better gpu. New RTS games are pretty demanding. You are not gonna see all the glory unless you have an 8800gt 512 or better gpu.

I agree with everyone on the gpu. If you're strapped for cash maybe try for an ATI 2600pro. AS for your ram, I have 4gigs of the same stuff and I love it. Sure, I run XP pro and it only recognizes 3.25gigs but none-the-less my pc blazes
