Msconfig doesnt open

Hello,
Im unable to open msconfig using run command.
I got the msconfig.exe file from other source still im facing the same issue. Can someone help me on this?

You got the ms config file from another source? What source? You tried to install it separately?

Are you the administrator, logged on as administrator?

Oh dear - you should have taken the spare from c:\windows\service pack files\i386.

Check this Registry key by going Start>Run, type in regedit and hit Enter. Select Export from the File menu and note the location and the name you give the backup you're about to create - it's very important just in case. Navigate to this key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE>SOFTWARE>Microsoft>Windows>CurrentVersion>App Paths>MSCONFIG.exe and check the location in the right hand pane points to c:\windows\pchealth\helpctr\binaries. If it doesn't change it and finally, close the Register form the file menu and Exit and check that file location in the Windows folder. If the file isn't there, copy from i386 as above.

Malware almost invariably causes this behaviour so get some decent scanners going in there - starting with MalwareBytes form http://www.malwarebytes.com.[/#000ff]
