Disk boot failure,insert system disk

Hello,
Hello,i have got the same problem....but when i insert a windows xp cd it is unable to detect it so the problem continues to be there itself...and more over i am using gigabyte mother board.and if i insert that cd.the monitor displays"FD 1.44MB System type(13)"
gigabyte bootCD loader. press any key to boot from CD-ROM"
when i press a key...it shows.."hard drive not installed properly press any key to restart"
hope u come up wwith a solution

Did the computer work before the problem started? Or is this a new built computer?
What is the make and model? Or what is the hardware configuration?

Are you trying to do a windows repair, fresh install, just boot from the hard drive...?

Do you have a full copy of windows, an upgrade, or OEM recovery disc?

it is not the new biult one...
one of my friends said ...if i replace the hard disk it going to get solved...
which is appropriate sol. for this?

Check the cables to the hard drive, and make sure they are secure.

Boot into the BIOS, and make sure the hard drive is the first boot device.

If that doesn't help, then your friend is probably right.
