Hi have a q9400, 790i ultra mobo, and an Antec Nine Hundred Black Steel ATX Mid Tower.
I was just wondering if anyone could recommend a good heatsink so i would able to over clock to somewhere around 3.0ghz

Thanks

if 3GHZ is all you aiming for i would recommend Artic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro.anything more is waste of money.because the AC7 can cool the older 65nm Q6600 to 3Ghz and 100% load at 65C. so think of the cooler core!

i made a little hsf buyer's guide:

it depends on your budget and the amount of cooling you need. a modern HDT, 120-150mm, perpendicular hsf is good for most people. for my core contact freezer, with the max voltage setting my m3a can handle (1.36v), i can't push it over 55C.

if you are planning on a 1.35-1.6v setting, you must get water or hybrid peltier cooling. over 1.6v is L2N territory.
