I'm building a new machine and need some advice on the power supply.

Heres what I'm going with.

GIGABYTE GA-P35-DS3L LGA 775 Intel P35 ATX All Solid Capacitor Intel Motherboard

Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 Kentsfield 2.4GHz Processor

EVGA GeForce 8800GT 512MB Video Card

Seagate Barracuda 7200.11 500GB SATA Harddrive

CORSAIR 4GB(2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800

For the case  I'm thinking  the Antec 900

So, what requirements am I going to need from my power supply?  Who makes a quality power supply?
500, 600 watts?   And I would like it to be relatively quiet.

I am getting a similar system and will be using a Corsair VX550. Trust me, it will be plenty. Don't listen to people who tell you you need like 700 watts. Get a quality 550 one. You could probably run that entire system easily on a good 450 watt power supply, but it wouldn't be as good for upgrades. Here is the PSU that I'm getting for my rig (in sig) http://www.buy.com/prod/corsair-vx [...] 52646.html It will be enough for more hds and RAM most definately, and I suggest you buy the same one. If you want to get something else, then go here: http://www.xtremesystems.org/forum [...] p?t=108088 It has all the high quality PSUs in teirs. Though it's not exactly up to date, it gives you a good idea of what PSU brands suck and which ones don't.

since you sill not be adding a second card you do not need a 750

a 600-650

antec triple 650
silverstone strider 600 or zeus 650
pc power cooling 610

all these have 38-42 amps on the 12v run cool and run at 80% or higher will your set up.

with the antec 900 move the bays up 1 slot you cool the ram better!

custom light switch can be made is 10 mins:

lights are mounted on top both - 9 led uv 12"

cut a hole 1 inch ssquare to run the 12v 8pin to top

cut a hole 1 x 2.5 inches for the power cords out the bottom

if you have the new 900 you have 2 holes precut on the side - old one does not so cut - if you do not cut 1 x 2 hole to run the 24pin atx cord
