how 3870 will run under PCIex4?
my VGA card can load my screen res good 1920x1200 & i need a new card.
my board only have PCIex16@x4, till i replace it to rampage formula or striker 2. don't know yet...
but for now i need to play... something & i cant with 7600gs

Heres a link. http://www.tomshardware.com/2007/0 [...] page8.html Tho it doesnt include your card, you may get a certain percentage from this, and apply it to your card. Use the 8800 nVidia card, as its closest to what you have. The faster the card, the greater effect/loss youll see of course. You may also want to read the forums response, as it contains a few things thatll help explain or show the need for 16x. especially in a crossfire or SLi board

this is y i'm in a dilema- 8800gt or 3870 on my X4 Scaling.

by what you are saying, i need to buy 3870 coz the 1900xtx don't use over x4 scaling.
since then a year or more had passed, new archtecture...
what do you think?!?

Youll still see gains with the 3870. The 3870 is the most similar card to the 8800gts which was in the article. The amount of loss should be similar between these two cards
