Hello

I have 2 GB of Corsair XMS2 Twin2X2048 PC6400 800 Mhz.

Everything almost aways works, but I get periodic breakdown and constantly get poor performance.

Heres a list of problems

Running Wndows XP - Every other week a windows program crashes and says "memory out of line"

Running Battlefield 2 (video game) - freezes every other time I play

Colin McRae DiRT (video game) - Always crashes on loading screen

Note worth mentions

A month ago I had 1 GB of OCZ 2667 installed and got identical problems. I replaced it with Corsair XMS2 Twin2X2048 and the problems came back.

System Specs
mobo - Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3L
video - Galaxy 8800GT
sound - Soundblaster X-FI gamer
hard drives - segate 250/320GB

Did you run Memtest on any of the original memory? How about giving it a try on this as well. I find it hard you would run into to problems with two completely different brands of memory so it coud be a BIOS problem with the board or bad board itself. But first things you need to try are going into the BIOS and making sure the memory is set to run at the proper voltage and then run Memtest on it.

Also what power supply are you running?

Hello

Yes I ran memtest on the old memory and it turned out to be fine.

At the moment the DDR voltage (new ram) is set to normal and it detected the 800 Mhz properly.

I'm also trying to figure what is the proper voltage of my ram. It seems in that tutorial, the person set ram to 2.0 volts.

Additional information

My new ram worked fine for the first week, until the old problems came back.

I missed the line in the article I posted.

The proper voltage is 1.9.

But, if I set the DDR OverVoltage control to "normal". Should it alredy be set to the proper voltage?

Sorry for the triple post, but CPU-Z reveals that my memory voltage is set to 1.8 at the moment. So I need to add 0.1 volt to make it correct.
