OK here's the deal:
I have already ordered all the compenents for my new PC , except
for the motherboard , which should arrive in a few days to a local store.
The model in question is the ASUS P5N-D.
I started searching reviews and such about it , and they seem to be...
well not very good , and I heard something about an outdated audio.
There is only one more model that is based on the 750i and I think is suitable: EVGA 750i FTW
but it isnt available yet , and is more expensive.
What I need from a motherboard is mainly SLI , good overclockabilty and performance,
and I dont need many SATA cables. What alternatives have I got?
Is the ASUS close to the EVGA overall? should I settle for the ASUS?
Here are the Specs: (everything is already ordered)
-Intel E8500
-Corasir TWIN2X2048-6400C4 2GB Kit CL4 800Mhz
-XFX 9800GTX
-Western Digital WD2500AAKS
-LG GH20N
-OCZ StealthXstream 600W
-Coolermaster Centurion RC534
(I dont live in USA)

Asus is a good quality manufacturer and have been in the motherboard business longer then EVGA has, I'd take the Asus board over the EVGA even if you could get both.

Indeed , ASUS is a good manufacturer , but the reviews of this
paticular model say otherwise.
Even at the asus forums people are complaining about high
temperatures of the cpu (all with e8xxx by the way) and various
other problems.

If you want an SLI capable board, there are the MSI P7N SLI Platinum and EVGA 123-YW-E175-A1, both 750i boards. The only difference (but not a minor one IMO), is that the EVGA supports 2x16 SLI compared to 2x8 SLI for most 750i boards. The first EVGA board reviews also mentioned it is a hell of an overclocker (~530 MHz FSB).

Personally, I ditched the whole SLI option a month ago to go for much cheaper Gigabyte DS3L board because only the 750i boards were in a reasonable price, but most of them had bad reviews. If I were to build a PC right now, I would go for the EVGA 750i; full 2x16 capacity, but without having to pay premium for 780i.

the ASUS is also SLI capable http://www.asus.com/products.aspx?modelmenu=2&model=2033&l1=3&l2=11&l3=627&l4=0
Quote from ASUS:
Expansion Slots

2 x PCIe 2.0 x16
- Single VGA mode: x16
- SLI mode: Hardware ready for x16, x16
2 x PCIe x1
2 x PCI 2.2
Scalable Link Interface (SLI%u2122)

Support two identical NVIDIA SLI-Ready graphics cards (Hardware ready for x16, x16) Unquote.
It does recieve many mixed reviews...but my guess is that future BIOS updates will fix that.
