First time putting a build together. I got a Biostar TA770 board with a Thermaltake 500W Purepower PSU. Now my question is the pin connector on the MOBO is a 8pin for the +12V. However, the PSU has a 4-pin +12V connector.
Can I plug that 4 pin in the 8 pin? Will it work? Or do I need to get a new PSU?

Thanks.
It should work fine, most motherboards will. If it doesn't boot or it keeps freezing/rebooting while running, this might be the problem. If you plan on overclocking, get the 4pin to 8pin adapter because your motherboard will need the extra juice. Plan on putting it together and getting it running and order the part, when it comes in, take 30 seconds to add the adapter just to be safe.
