I think the 9600GT is better, marginally better.

I think the 9600GT is better when using AA & AF filtering at medium resolutions. For a card just released its got great drivers and that can only get better. Gotta love those Nvidia drivers!

and Radeon HD3870 x2 vs 9600gt?

The 3870 X2 is much more powerful than the 9600GT, but it costs twice as much (because its two graphics cards on the same chip).

3870!!!

I got a Radeon HD3870, it serves me well. Crysis on DX10 Ultra High, 29fps.

Nvidia cards are over priced and overkill for todays games.

...ok then.

I would agree with MrsBytch, look for the cheaper card or if you feel more comfortable with a certain brand.

I have a hard time believing you that you are getting 29FPS in Crysis on "Very High" in DX10 mode. My 8800GTX gets 25-35 FPS in Crysis at 1280x1024 with everything on "Very High", what size monitor are you using?
