According to SiSoft Sandra, my 1TB Green drive that I am using for storage has a random access read time of 8ms!! vs. my main WD black 640gb with 12ms. Could this be because the drive isn't being used by the OS like the main drive, or is my Green drive just crazy fast?

I booted to my Green drive (cloned the OS) and installed Sandra to see if the results were the same. Booted from the Green, Sandra shows it now at 15ms RAT, and then when I test the Black drive from there the the RAT is still 12ms. Weird.

Not really possible. The drive physically cannot manage an access time lower than about 12-15ms, so something was wrong with the initial measurements.

(Unless you've short stroked it of course)
