internet download speed

Hello,
I have before adsl 512kbs subcribed with the government communication enterprise and I have upgraded to 1.5 Mb presently. There is no different in download speed between the two and I wanted to know how I can check these bastard.Thank you.

It sounds like you have already checked. But I would recommend using speedtest.net or similar(it's free). Another thing to remember is that your download speed can be limited by who you are downloading from, where they are, and how many people nearby are using the internet at the same time.

Like lux said though, keep in mind that there are many variables involved in gaging true download speed.
