i turned off speedstep and when i look at cpuz it shows me this:

is there something i'm missing? i know i'm idle right now but even when i run prime95 for all four cores it makes it 333x7=2333mhz. i haven't overclocked yet and i have: vista home premium x64, 4gb of ram, sli 8800gt :sol:

You disabled EIST in BIOS I'm guessing, but you most likely have not disabled C1E, which lowers the CPU multiplier at idle. Once you start Prime on all of them it should go back to 9x333, check in the BIOS to make sure your multiplier is properly set to 9(if it is on automatic, change it to 9)

time to start overclocking, crank up that multiplier, and maybe a bus jump too.

now that i look again at load it goes to x7 multiplier. i'll look around the bios for that thing.
