I was wondering if a ANTEC EARTHWATTS 380WATTS would be sufficient for this setup?

cpu - intel allendale E2160 1.8ghz ( will be overclocking this to 3ghz )
mobo - GIGABYTE GA-P35-DS3L
memory - Crucial Ballistix 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400)
vid card - MSI OC GeForce 8500GT 256MB 128-bit GDDR3 PCI Express x16 SLI Supported Video Card
hdd - 320gb Western digital

oh.. you don't want to pay more? nvm then... personally i hate that card... brings me all the bad memopries of last year's crappy midrange... but that's another story... are you going to exceed stock volts?

This is my first build. I will be figuring everything out as i go. So i cant answer your question right now. The last thing i am deciding on is a PSU and case. After that i will be ordering my parts. Then comes the har part of putting it together. But i am very anxious and looking forward to it.
I think i have to exceed stock volts if im going to overclock it. From what i read i should increase the stock volts to 1.525

Move up to at least the 8600GT.
You should be able to find it for close to $80 after rebate.

The 8600GT should handle most games just fine at 1280x1024 on Medium Quality settings.

The 8500GT would be quite restricted in the games it could play.

I only play RTs games on the PC. So i think that video card will be good enough. What do you think?
Also i still didnt get an answer about if the 380watt psu is sufficient.

the psu may be sufficient, bt it will be cutting things very fine... VERY fine... as for RTS, they can be QUITE demanding... ie, WiC, CoH, SupCom... so... but, it's your choice... if budget allows, go for a better GPU and PSU but hey... money can be tight...

That PSU should be sufficent, dont go with anything MSI, and overclocking should be fine with that PSU too - dont we remember the scaling of the Core2's when overclocking? Look into it - even the first core2 review here at THG - x6800 @ 2.93ghz -> 3.6ghz barely raised the power.

An AcBell 400w can handle a 8800GTS/640mb and a E6600, im sure a 2xxx series and an 8500 are going to be fine with 380w

Yup, the VX550 is the one to have for that price.

Edit: I ran the PSU Calculator with the following;

E2160 @3G 1.52V
2 sticks DDR2
1 8500GT
1 SATA HDD
1 DVD +RW
3 LED 120 mm Fans
100% CPU Utilization
100% System Load
Recommended PSU 319W

Unless it's cheaper than the VX550 by a fair margin, I would get the VX, for when you add stuff, which you will.
