Hey guys, I'm a noob overclocker, this will be my first system that I will really overclock. So I need help.

I am looking for a motherboard in the 300$ price range (Lower than that would not be anything to complain about :) )

And I am looking to overclock the following set up:

- Q9x50 (hoping to go over 3.2 GHz)
- Crucial Ballistics 2x1 cause I have XP (Should get PC2-6400 or PC2-8500?)
- 8800GT (I have this already at 725/1815/2000) with a Thermaltake Duorb)

Here is what I'd like from the motherboard:
- Great overclocker, stable and all that
- SLi since I'm not an ATi person ( not necessarily Tri SLi since I doubt ill even do SLi anyway.)

I"m currently looking at:
- Asus maximus Formula (not sure if its SLi or CF)
- MSI P7N Diamond (not sure if its really what im looking for (cuz of Tri SLi and all that)

Also, I'm probably gonna wait till the prices go down for the processor.

Thanks in advance

Asus maximus Formula is a great board but its CF...

If you dont want to use SLI in the future you are better off with an intel chipset they seem to be more stable and less issues, especially when overclocking.

Thanks, ill look in to the Intel boards, meanwhile would a 780i be good, theres also the 790i its 400 but I heard some great things about its stability, only thing is I never really thought Nvidia boards were that good...

Also which would be better RAM for overclock PC2-6400 or PC2-8500?
