I recently bought a WD 1TB SATA drive and I am trying to figure out a good partition structure and what to put in them. I would like a decently fast setup. I was thinking of two OSs a flavor of Linux and then Vista 64. With Vista I want to have a backup partition for the OS so that I can restore the OS partition once in awhile. I also want a partition for data and one for apps. as far as Linux goes it will cut my HD into pieces like usual.
this being said, what the the freak do I do with the rest of the drive?? One TB is HUGE(hopefully not showing my age)
I was thinking of getting some disk imaging software and sucking a base installation of Vista over to the Vista backup so that it would be easier to restore the system. As far as Linux apps go I am really not sure, whatever catches my eye
