Hey folks... I just can't seem to find anything comparing these two cards and I am lost -- or separate reviews but with two very different systems. I see a higher memory but the GTS has the higher clock speed. I need some help! The two cards are:

ASUS EN8800GT/HTDP/1G/A GeForce 8800GT 1GB 256-bit GDDR3 @$299 now

EVGA 512-P3-N841-AR GeForce 8800GTS (G92) 512MB 256-bit GDDR3 @$259 now - $55 off

From what I know... the GTS should be the better card. Maybe the good price + rebate is confusing me by making it cheaper?

I have a second question though. I read that the price on GTS's will likely not be affected by the release later this month, but moreso on the GTX... or if it does on the GTS, by like 10-20$. Anyone else of this opinion? Deciding whether to wait and see, but if I do, I will likely miss out on the $30 dollar off rebate. Just trying to make sure these deals aren't there to unload these cards at a high price before a big price drop! Thx in advance to both the lookers and posters... Cheers!

The 512MB GTS is better. This link will show you how rare it is the 8800GT benefits from 1GB. http://en.expreview.com/2007/12/30/review8800gt-how-many-memory-do-you-need%EF%BC%9F/

Don't worry about price drops IMO. It's always bound to happen somewhat and it's not going to be a quick huge difference by any means. Just grab a $200 512MB 8800GT or $250 8800GTS 512MB, either card provides alot for the money.

Well said. I agree.
