evga 650i ultra

i don't know how to stress test using orthos and prime 95..

what are the safe temps? i got these with core temp
core0=65
core1=55
core2=59

these are the max with realtemp

It looks like you're only stressing one core. Either run 4 instances of orthos or early version prime95, or run up to date version of prime95, which stress all 4 cores.

i'm thinking the this configuration is ok...

i got 3.0 GHZ (334x9) @ 1.26v
ddr2 444.5 (889mhz) @ 2.1v

i ran prime95 for 10 mins..
got
core0=64
core1=62
core2=55
core3=55

are these temps safe?btw, stock cooler used.. do i need to upgrade cpu cooling? i'm thinking of the arctic cooling 7 pro..

Yup those are safe temps. For the Q6600 you don't want to exceed 71C under 100@load on the hottest core.

are the difference between cores normal?if not, will this harm the cpu or any hardware?

Reply to john_antonio

Yup, since there's technically two dual cores smushed together, they aren't exact copies. And no it won't damage your hardware.

thanks! i ran prime95 for 10 mins and those temps were the results.. do i still need to run prime95 longer or 10 mins should be enough to say it's stable?

You should ran it longer to ensure stability. Some people go as far as 24 hours.

But for temperature, it should already have reached max in 10 minute, so it should be good enough.

If you oc further, yes. Those temperatures are still okay though.
