Just been thinking though, will Albatron of used a 512 bit bus there, or calling it 512 based on 2 x 256??

If the card does come with 512 bit bus @ 2000mhz DDR3, will the card pump out 256GB/s bandwidth seeing as it's 2 x GPUs, or will it simply be 128GB/s and the 2nd GPU makes no difference to the figures?

I'm 99% certain that your second thought is correct, that they are calling it 512 bit based on 2 x 256. Many companies do that just for marketability's sake.

Unless they found a way to combine the buses :kaola:

Will that thing fit in most cases though?

Probably not but it isn't that big at all for a full tower :)

It's almost certainly 2x256, but I'd love to be wrong.

7950GX2 was also 512bit if I remember right and it had to do with 256x2.

Was worth asking....

This should ultimately confirm to us that the nVidia 9800 GPUs will (for now) all be 256bit...

Hopefully a 9900 will be released with specs to really make a difference.

I'm waiting till some solid benchmarks for Crysis etc are released for the GX2, to make an educated buying decision.... All I want is 1366 x 768 resolution @ Ultra High with 4xAA with 40+ FPS. Not too much to ask is it?

For a game that scales 2 - 3 years into future, yes. Even medium settings blow away almost every game out so just stick with those. High if you got the horsepower.

AA kills Crysis. Instead, open the console and type "UseEdgeAA 2" without the quotes. That will give you an AA-like effect that even works on the foliage (something that normal AA doesn't do). This "edgeAA" is not compatible with normal AA, so make sure you disable that or you won't see any difference.

Oh and just in case you aren't familiar with the console, access in by pressing the ` key (to the left of 1 and under Esc). To unrestrict it you must type "con_restricted 0", again without the quotes. Then do the little edgeAA command.

Hope that helps :)

:hello: Just make sure you type "con_restricted 0" (without the quotes) or you won't really be able to change anything.
