Hi, finally got the internet connected after 6yrs without! But i'm currently trying to use e-mule and getting a pathetic d/l speed of 30kbps (it's a 6M/612K connection)
I'm using a Zyxel p600ht1 - v2 router. any ideas what i should set the limits to?
Currently set the max nat session (using telnet) to 512
emule max connections 512
router firewall maximum incomplete high = 150
tcp maximum incomplete =150
Now i'm sure these settings are completely wrong, but does anyone have any ideas how i can find the correct optimum settings? Tried searching google and playing with it for the past hour but no definitive answers yet

Thanks Guys

oh forgot to mention, router log reporting lots of CONNECTION DROPPED messages + memory usage at around 25% and CPU 15% (on router status page

The problem with Emule is that it tries to schedule everyone, I almost never see more than 30 KB/s on any one file, even though I have my router set up correctly.

Did you forward your ports correctly?

thanks for the replies, guys.
No 30Kb/s max daytime total (which is pretty pathetic for a 6M connection) about 3KBps per file. I have a High ID, 250+ files queued. Got a peak of 120kbs last night which is ok, but bit torrent peaks at about 100kbs mid-day. port forwarding is set-up correctly.

Close to what I get then...I've never gotten good P2P speeds using Cablevision or Verison...I think part of the reason if people who set their max upload speed to 20 Kb/s, then try to upload around 200 files at once.

Ok, thanks for the info. I've had emule running a lot faster on my old 620/512k connection (6years ago tho) bit torrent is more or less the same now. 30down 40up. might be isp related rather than client. pity seeing as in bandwith tests i get from 200-450kb/s

Eh, I can hit 1.5 on an empty server, but most of the time, its a steady 780 KB/sec for me. I can get close to that using UTorrent given enough seeders (I'm nice, i set my upload limit to 200 KB/sec :D), but never in emule.
