Hello, I have 2 3870s in crossfire. there are connections for 4 monitors but my system will only see two when i have 3 hooked up. Is it even possible to have 3 displays or do i have to turn something on in the bios ? Also a friend told me to take off the crossfire bridge ? He said he read that somewhere.. but that don't make since to me.

my system is
asus P5E3 MB
4 gigs off ddr3
QX6850 ( oc to 3.66 ) water cooled

I could be wrong, but your friend may be right. I think the idea is to run them not in CF mode. When in CF, I think the PC reconizes the cards as one card, meaning only two DVI outputs. If you ran them not in CF, it would see them as 2 cards, 4 DVI out.

This is just a guess, though, and may be wrong.

I believe basketcase is right. You probably need to disable Crossfire to use 3 monitors.

Agreed, when crossfire is enabled, only 2 DVI outs work.

When crossfire is disabled in CCC, all 4 DVI outs work.

You need to disable crossfire, but you don't need to unplug it, you can disable and enable it without rebooting now too.
