My friend bought his comp last december and worked perfectly fine till last week with his internal modem issues. Anyways he tried to reinstall the OS and the XP can still detect the modem but refuse to install its driver even we try another brand modems still won't work. I tried to plug his modem into my comp and it works normally and I can do the driver install.
I don't think the PCI Slot is damage since it still can detect the modem but refuse to install its driver. Also, I don't think the modem is damage since it still works normally in my comp. Also, I don't think the software nor hardware is conflict since it worked normally before and I have reinstall the fresh Windows XP.
