I am building a new PC. I have 1 SSD dirve for my OS. I also have 3 sata 1.5 tb drives for everything else. I use this for large software development. Main reason for new PC is performance and space. Performance is resoulved with a I7-965 chip & 12gb memory. The 5 sata 1.5 TB drives should solve the space issue.
With the 5 SATA 1.5 TB drives 7200rpm would a raid 5 offer any real benifit?
Can I start with 3 SATA 1.5TB drives in the raid and add 2 more next week?
Is setting up raid 5 too much effort for the benifit?
