Don't want too wait much longer too build my system. Not up todate on this stuff but this sounds like a good deal. Please help me with some advice.

its hard to judge, given that we dont have a review of the q9450 - but i would wait, see, and then choose. And i assume that 299 is in usd? if its £ its a rip off, and since i dont know prices in the USA to compare i cant help you there either.

IF you can get a Q9450 then one of them. They are available in Asia and the first results look very very good, but odds are the first batch of them is probably already sold out and will probably be significant wait before the next batch.

If you are thinking the Q6700 why would you not get the Q6600. The Q6600 can be had for $200- $250 The Q6700 is $539 USD for a mere .26 more speed. The Q6700 wont OC any higher then the Q6600 either. Easier to overclock maybe but not much. Q6700 you raise multiplier and the Q6600 you raise FSB.
