We have a NT server and we are trying to map a drive to one of the client machines that has XP home on it.

Can map from the XP home client to the NT Server but can not map the server to the client.

WHY we are doing this is, on the server we have a nightly backup of the system database and are trying to save a copy of that file onto the client machine from the server.

Maybe XP client computer is missing a protocol.

Try adding NWLink NetBIOS

Would it be possible for you to create a designated folder on the NT system that the XP computer can see. And then sync the XP computer to that folder? Thus creating an offline accessible backup folder.
