Hello, it's a boring Sunday, and I just wanted to conduct some tests regarding CPU "bottlenecking" of the graphics card. I want to take my E8400, and maybe drop the FSB down to 266, then maybe 200, then maybe 133.... is this safe? What should I do. I'm no newbie to computers, but up until a few months ago I knew absolutely nothing of overclocking.

Instead of lowering the FSB, you may want to lower the multiplier, though you likely can only drop it to 6.
If you drop the FSB too much, you are also reducing memory performance so you may start to see Memory Bottlenecking and attribute it to CPU bottlenecking.

Since the cpu is downclocked along with memory, it really shouldn't bottleneck more than the cpu itself. The rule of thumb for typical timing ddr2 is, 1:1 ratio, for any rated fsb, won't bottleneck.
Why would you want to downclock an expensive cpu instead of just choosing a cheap one?

Because I'm bored, and just running some at home tests. I bought the E8400 for gaming and video encoding
