So I have an interesting problem. My one month old LG SATA DVD burner is reading the previous DVD or CD’s files. Kinda.

What ever DVD or CD I put into the drive after the initial power up of the computer will work just fine, but if I take that DVD or CD out, and load in a different disc, the auto play function will not work, and when I go to view the files in my computer, it displays the files from the initial disc. When I try to run a program or open a file, it will of course not work because the file is not on that disc.

I have reinstalled drivers, updated the firmware, changed SATA cables and ports on the motherboard, but nothing has helped. I know I could rma the drive, but I don’t want to be without a drive for a few weeks. Also, I know I can just buy another one for $30, but I would much rather try and fix this one. I guess it’s just the principle.

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I couldn’t find anyone else with this same problem anywhere on the internet. Don’t know if it will help, but the model number is: HL-DT-ST DVD-RAM GH22NS30. Thanks!
