My BIOS and SpeedStep

I'm trying to overclock my CPU but can't seem to find the place i Disable the SpeedStep. I have an Intel E8400 and a Gigabyte EP35-DS3L.

Anyone know what to do? It should run near 3GHZ, but CPU-Z only says its at 2.8GHZ

Sorry, I don't know the Gigabyte BIOS. What does CPU-Z say when you put a load on it? Does it come up to 3.0?

I like Prime95 for testing.

i ran CPU-Z right after i did Prime95. came up to 2.8GHZ

I read around and it could be that my CPU isn't compatible with speedstep.
I disabled C1E. my friend says that it's about the same thing. I also wen to power settings and put it to always on
