Hell yeah :) Pretty godly system ...

But why do you need 5.1? Knowing most porn only on stereo, hahahaha (kiddin :))

Now seriously, why do you need 5.1 card? Well, look again at your P35-DS3L spec, if I'm not mistaken it has already builtin 7.1 audio .... 7.1 >> 5.1 IMO.

I'm using onboard audio with my Altec 5100 (5.1 speaker), and I'm satisfied with it .. I'm playing games with surround enabled (as far as the game support) watching movies with surround setting etc .. So far so good, so that I'm not considering (yet) to spend extra money for separate audio card . .

and also does anyone think that one of those "gaming grade" mice (like a logitech g5) are worth it...when I play FPS' I already get whored, is it really any better? otherwise I'm just going with the OEM microsoft keyboard and mouse package

Well, I don't know for sure, maybe true MAudio > onboard ... My bad ear then, could not differentiate those differences .. Heheh :)

Dunno about mouse things, I'm not playing FPS for clanwar anymore since CS 1.6 :) Ohh, what an old day ... :) Currently only play on single player mode, so standard mouse and keyboard is enough. ..

I dont think a mouse is going to make any difference. a gaming keyboard might though. I like the ideazon merc stealth. a big keyboard but a great layout.
the videocard is overkill for that monitor. even up to a 22" the max you will need is a evga gts512. runs crysis on high at 1680x1050 and will save you 150 minimum.
How much are the harddrives? the Seagate 500gb 7200.11 is $111 at newegg. Its a very fast drive, keeps up with a raptor, and has 32mb cache. Just my opinion :)

700w PSU is overkill, you could get away with a 600w or even a high efficiency 500w PSU.

My opinion on the sound card issue: don't bother buying a soundcard at first. Evaluate the onboard audio quality, and if it is unacceptable to you then purchase a standalone card.

8800gtx is not a smart purchase, IMO. 8800GT or GTS is a much better bang for your buck. The price premium you will pay for the GTX is not worth the negligible performance increase over the GT(S).

You would be better off buying the GT or GTS and using the money saved to get a bigger/better monitor. (The money you save on the PSU would also help here.) I recommend a 22" widescreen. (I own a Samsung 220WM and am very pleased with it.)

A good mouse can make a difference. You don't need to go overboard on it though. There is a mouse benchmark - ESReality MouseScore 2007. The short of it is LED is better than laser and you want a cord - laser is still good. I'm partial to Logitech. The older MX518 the newer G3, G5 or G7 are all good. Don't forget the mouse pad, XTrac makes inexpensive mouse surfaces, I prefer hard surfaces for optical mice.

The Seasonic M12-700w PSU is the best Powersupply I've ever had the pleasure of working with. Don't worry about the Overkill factor, as this PSU is 80Plus certified, which makes it DEAD QUIET, the modular cords are very nicely packaged, and it produces the Cleanest sinewave of any PSU i've researched. PERIOD. Seasonic support is fantastic. I emailed them about getting an extra 4-pin FDD adaptor so i could run my Soundblaster LiveDrive, and Not only did they ship it out the same day I emailed them, but they also emailed me a tracking number and not just the one adaptor i asked for, but TWO of them! I think after this, I will never desire to buy another brand of PSU.

graphics card, I'm going to have to agree with these guys. the 8800GTS 512(G92) is a fantastic card, and for a single-card solution, is probably the best bang for buck. period. Pretty sure it beats it in most setups over the GTX, anyway, and the only 2 cards that can 'beat it' are the HD3870X2 at higher resolutions, or in some tests, the Ultra, but kiss your wallet goodbye on that purchase.

WTF is a Western Digital Caviar 640GB drive? You'd probably be better off getting the RE2 version of their 500GB, or the 750GB RE2.

I LOVE my Razer Boomslang CE 2007 :D
