hi
i have a hard time finding an appropriate case for my new gaming system.
my favourite so far is the coolermaster cosmos s, but unfortunately it has a grid instead of a window
so maybe u can help me out and suggest some others
thanx,
weinzey
ps my budget is about 250€
pps eSata would be great, but isnt a necessity
It's a good-sized case for gaming, and has excellent airflow. As an example, i just found that I can run my E6750 at 3.4GHz with the Zalman 9700's fan OFF, and under Prime 95's torture test only reach 55C (46C with fan on low), all thanks to the 120mm rear and 200mm top exhaust fans, both of which are nearly silent.

C2D E6750 @ 3.4GHz | Zalman 9700 | MSI P35 Platinum | 4x1GB Crucial Ballistix 6400 | BFG 8800 GT at 675/2000/1675 shader | PC Power and Cooling 610 | Western Digital 320GB HDD | Antec Nine Hundred
The Antec 900 might be a good case, but almost everyone has it, and apart from the $120 price tag, that's the only reason I didn't get it. I have an XION Onyx http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6811208021 case and it's fine enough for a budget builder. I saved $70 (with an earlier MIR) and now I can get a way better graphics card then I would have with the antec 900. Sure the XION doesn't have as good cooling, or as top notch quality, but it still does the trick for someone on a budget (or someone who doesn't over clock much). Now I can buy an 8800GTS G92 instead of the 9600GT because of the money I saved on getting a decent, but cheaper case. Your money, your decision.
Oh, and that doesn't mean I don't like the Antec 900. It is still a really good case. Awesome cooling, and it looks pretty ok. (Though I think I like my cheaper Onyx better ). It's super popular for a reason.
Heh, and when the dude said old graphics card, he was using it just as an expression. He didn't mean you were using an old graphics card (even if it mattered). "Vent hits the ol' videa card juuuusss' right"

thx for the fast answers
is there an alternative to the antec, so i can compare the two?
and will i encounter space issues since its only a midi tower? (im planning to get only one video card)
The Antec 900 is the best case in my view, superior cooling, lots of room and an excellent interior layout. On sale it can be found for less than $80 in the USA. I got mine from Frys.com for $78 shipped.
Lots of people have it because it's a great case. Unless your spending $200 on water cooling (by the way it has gasket-ed pass through for that too) it's a great air cooling case. Why spend about the same and get less cooling ability? Shop around you'll find it cheaper than on Newegg.
weinzey--- lostandwandering think you misunderstood what he meant. He meant that the fan blew air onto the "good ol' video card". Not implying you were using an old card . and doomsdaydave11 Heh, and when the dude said old graphics card, he was using it just as an expression. are correct.
if you are building new pc antec 900 is tier 1
cooling all parts is a big deal,if you give spec 's of new build it will help other dudes give better help.
sense you were asking case only !

You shouldn't experience any space issues inside the Antec Nine Hundred. It's by no means spacious but you can fit everything in it. i have an 8800 GTS along with a Tuniq Tower, both fitting nicely, along with 3 hard drives. Cables can be somewhat of an issue, but with a decent modular power supply and a little tidying work you can make it look pretty good.
As for alternatives, in my opinion there aren't really any that you can compare to this case in terms of price and cooling performance. the only thing that should put you off about the Antec Nine Hundred is how it looks. If you personally dont like the look then you should shop around for somethig else, but if you do like the look it is a must buy!!

sry for the confusion
my system is gonna look approximately like that:
asus formula maximus se
be quiet dark power pro p7 (650w)
e8500
8800gts or maybe the new 9800gtx
4hdds
corsair xms2 dominaitor 4gb
what do you guys think of this case?
http://www.nzxt.com/products/tempest was designed somewhat as a successor of the antec 900 and has some features the antec lacks (like external hdd, esata and ithink the fans are 3pin, but im not sure aubout that).
and the cooling should match with the antek, since it has basically the same buildup as the antec plus a few extra fans
plus, my budget is about 200 for the case, so are there better cases on the higher end or are they just getting more expensive but not really better?
The CM-690 is now available with a clear side panel Love mine, it's a fantastic case! Spec as per sig, my CPU idles at 28-31C on stock cooler and GTXs idle at 45 and 55C
If you like the way Alienware cases look, I recommend the Apollo. (I have the blue one, and it's not nearly as bright as the picture shows. It's more of a faded metallic, and it looks amazing.)
I love the tool-less bays and slots they have in there, and the front door is really well-designed. It won't cool as well as the 900, so I guess if you plan on doing heavy overclocking and you feel you need the extra airflow, the 900 would be for you. But there are some who say that the 900 is overkill for most use.
But I feel the NZXT's cooling is adequate...i mean, nothing's exploded on me yet
