can anyone help me flash my brothers Bios so that his new cpu will be suported? The motherboard is an Asus P5LD2-VM.

Go to the Asustek homepage at www.asus.com
 
Look up your motherboard, and download the latest bios. It should be a .ROM file. You can use the asus bios update utility that hopefully you have installed on the computer to complete the update. If not, asus has directions on other ways to update the bios on their homepage.

1. NEVER UPDATE THROUGH WINDOWS
2. Download BIOS to a floppy/Flash drive and read the manual on using the built in BIOS flashing utility (I do believe it's called EZ-Flash).
