Anyone see anything that they would change?

XEON? Why do you need XEON? And is it LGA775? I thought that XEON are in 771.
 
Anyway if you need for server, yes I would say for XEON. But for gaming you can choose E8xxx or Qxxxx, with less price and good performance. No need for XEON IMO.
 
The other looks good, dunno details about mobo tho', will come back later if I got more info on it.

i think that xeon is the same spec as the 8400 right?

from all research i can do,the Xeon 3110 is the same chip as the e8400, in-stock, AND cheaper.

PhysX is a waste of money, IMO.

need 7200.11 drives or samsung fast drives. Personally think samsung is faster, if I had it to do over I go with RAIDing two sammy drives because I believe they are alittle faster.

I will agree it is at this moment, but with Nvidia acquiring ageia,and all GF8+ will be getting Physx support, a lot more games will utilize it, and having the card will free up the GFX cards from having to do it.

Carp, yes, I just read about this XEON, indeed it's LGA 775, my bad then, sorry However can anyone provide with a good info on it? Been messing around but couldn't find solid info on it: performance, features, etc.
 
For MOBO: Have found some info on Striker Extreme, indeed this is a good board IMO. However for such high end, why don't you consider the Striker II Extreme (it's 780i) which is should be better.

only things im NOT settled on= Power Supply + A new monitor, since the SLI GTS should pump out nicely on a new 24".

and you might be disappointed with that case, it is really messy inside unless you spend a good 4 hours messing around with cable management and cutting holes.

*you also should consider a quad core but that is your choice. and if you are into breaking ocing records get some fastish ram. not ddr2 800. perhaps post a link to the ram you have in mind?

Are sure it's modular? I don't know, can't tell, don't see any mention of it.

Added xigmatek cooler, changed the PSU to enermax infiniti 720.
