cpu athlon x2 5600+ windsor 1ghz (2.8ghz@ stock)

Iam using this system for only download/seeding purpose.
so i want to under clock my system to save power .
Is decreasing the cpu vid and core voltage damages the cpu?
if not please help me with minimum possible voltage settings for this board and cpu.

No problem, underclocking/undervolting won't damage the PC. If anything it will live longer. Just drop your CPU multiplier as low as it will go, then clock down the HT until you are satisfied. As a final step, lower you voltages until you become unstable, increase the voltages slightly again. Stress test and you're done.

or just use eist/c1e. Some people report bsod`s but i doubt thats due to either of these functions. I use eist myself which helps keep my pc cooler when not under load.
