Help, I need a better cooler than the stock unit that came with my evaluation i7 Extreme 965 CPU.
I have searched far and wide and have found only one manufacturer offering one of these HSF's. And you can't get it in the US yet.
Do anyone know of a company offering one yet? Or a kit to mod an existing HSF that is available for the 775 socket.
I normally use Thermalright or ZeroTherm devices for my cooling solutions but they don't have anything yet either.

Thanks in advance!

Considering the chip isnt even for sale yet why would you expect aftermarket coolers for sale? Ive seen your other post about your "evalutation i7", not sure you should be flaunting that around here, youre gonna get some heat.

Being given an evaluation i7 and not knowing what HS to use or not knowing how to make a custom plate/backplate for it? Hmmm........... Send it to me plus the Mobo please.

I just haven't had a chance to lay one out in Solidworks or MasterCAM to mill one out. I have a full machine shop at my disposal but other things take a much higher priority. Like the 380 machines that I'm rolling out this week along with the 8 server migration that is next week for one client.

Whats up with the "fake" CPUZ pics? Give me a break. Click on mine in my sig, thats a real CPUz report on a real system.

Show me something more real and ill get back to you.

So you mean to tell me that this isn't real? http://valid.x86-secret.com/show_oc.php?id=427625
If you would like pictures of the board, the cpu and the rest of the system I would be happy to provide them to you. I don't need to post fake stuff-mine is all too real!

I dont need to see pictures of your system. All I asked for was to supply a real cpuz link and not some cut and paste images.

Sorry, I didn't include the link - thought that the banner was more than enough.

LOL more to the point... I've asked around a while ago and no answers yet from any manufacturers... When they are available I will be one of the first to offer them.

Use a water cooling system. The block for the core 2 line should work just fine with a few adjustments.

The new chip is physically larger, youll need more contact area. Its not as simple as resizing some holes in a bracket unless you want to risk making the material too weak and it snaps under preasure.

Anyways, ive seen pics of the Scythe Orochi on an X58. Let me find the link.
