I'd like to use Palm Desktop (PD) as the core of my PDA data system, but
HotSynch (via Intellesync) will not link my PDA with PD. I am able to sync
Lotus Organizer and could use that app but why can't I get a PDA-PD link-up?
Do I have to uninstall Intellesync? (Clie TJ27 / Palm 4.1, XP home)

I don't know about the Sony version but with my T3 you had an option to
install conduits to synch with Outlook or use the default Palm Desktop. I
suspect that if you want to sync with the desktop you don't need to install
Intellisync.

eh? has Sony stopped supplying Palm desktop with their Palm PDA's?
used to be, Sony supplied a tweaked version of palm desktop,
which looked identical to Palm brand software. But Palm brand
desktop software would not work with Sony PDA, had to use Sony
brand of Palm desktop software, even though they look the same, and
the databases are the same.
Seems Sony and Palm software cannot easily coexist on same PC,
it was a bit of a pain to migrate back to a Palm TE from a
Sony SJ33. (But it was worth it for the Palm TE!)

Some misunderstanding. Sony did supply Palm Desktop (PD) as well as
Intellisync Lite (IL), but nothing that I saw warned me that installing both
IL and PD on my PC would make it impossible to sync PD to the Clie. IL
apparently captures the HotSynch vector and then supports synching to either
Lotus Organizer or MS Outlook, but not to PD.
As I suspected, after uninstalling Intellisync from my desktop computer,
synching between the Clie and PD is slick, fast and accurate. So far, I
have had no problem running any Palm 4.0 app on the Clie.
Thanx to Tony C.
